Claire Bridges MBA, BSc(Hons), MRTPI
Claire has a portfolio of consultancy and voluntary interests applying her skills, knowledge and expertise following a successful senior leadership and management career in local and central government. She has been a Trustee of St Paul’s Hostel since 2014 and became Chair in January 2017.
Having originally qualified and practiced as a town planner, Claire’s career has diverted to incorporate strategic policy/management and operational delivery for different local-national organisations and spheres of interest. She is renowned for leading cross-sector partnerships and extensive community and stakeholder engagement to work collectively and collaboratively in achieving mutually beneficial solutions. In recent years she has focused on strategic policy and delivery of specific initiatives and projects for Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership, Greater Birmingham & Solihull Local Enterprise Partnership, Government Economic Growth Programmes and specific Government Department initiatives, EU Funding Programmes, National Better Business for All Programme and major business sector projects. Claire is also Chair of the Birmingham City University – Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Partnership Board and Vice Chair of the national RTPI Partnership Accreditation Panel.
Claire loves a wide range of creative arts and cultural activities as an antidote to work! As a social butterfly she is often found at the heart of different groups following tennis and rugby fixtures; helping out Sutton Arts Theatre as Front of House Manager, joining fellow national textile designers in pursuit of contemporary techniques and designs; sharing regular theatre trips; or simply enjoying food and drink in any informal setting with family and friends.
