Welcome to St Paul's Hostel Website

We have a lot going on this year!!

The Big Sleep Out Challenge 2008 was on June 14th!
We raised over £2000, and had 25 sleepers outers.

A tremendous effort has been made by clients visiting the allotment. We have plants growing for the first time. These include strawberries, sweetcorn, runner beans, gladioli, irises, and many more.

Please look around our new website to see how we can help you and how you can help us.

Current goings on

Gourmets in Good Company

On 15th November 2008 the St Paul’s Fundraising Team fed and entertained 120 people at St Peter’s Baptist Church, Worcester. This was one of the Mayor’s charity events for St Paul’s Hostel and the Worcester Breast Unit Campaign. The funds are to be divided between the two charities.

The canapés were delicious, served with punch and accompanied by Paul Rose on the guitar.  The home-cooked food was fantastic, with much of the meat being donated by Top Barn Farm.

Rocky Hudson, of the Good Soil Project (GSP), spoke about his work with Monty Don on The Farm, as seen on the BBC. He has moved on to start another project at Top Barn Farm, assisting drug users to stay off their drugs while working on the land. Several of the clients came along to speak about how important the GSP has been to them.

The evening was very successful, and hopefully raised lots of money!

Kilimanjaro

On 15th October 2008, Mark Lofthouse, CEO of Mortgage Brain, along with colleagues Tim Lapish and Mike Raybone, raised over £3,000 for St Paul's Hostel by climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain.

“It was without doubt one of the most physically challenging things any of us have ever done”, comments Mark Lofthouse. “But reaching the top and knowing we were helping such a good cause was just amazing and made it all worthwhile. We’d like to thank everyone for their support and kind sponsorship donations.”

What you can do for us

St Paul's Hostel uses volunteers, and we always have vacancies for more people to join our teams.

The Fund Raising Group devise and organise events on a yearly basis. Some are fundraising, and some are awareness raising. Money is being raised at the moment to go towards an extension to create more beds and there are more events running this year for the 30th Anniversary.

We are always happy to accept donations which go towards the Resident's Fund, unless otherwise stated.
