Our mission

Our aim is not to intervene in individuals’ private lives, but to help and support people to make their own decisions, and to take control of their own lives

Support

We recognise that many factors contribute to homelessness, and are dedicated to offering support for issues such as:

  • Drug abuse
  • Alcohol dependency
  • Mental health problems
  • Domestic violence
  • Learning difficulties
  •
    Our facilities

The hostel provides 40 male and 6 female beds, in both double and single rooms. We also provide:

  • Cooked breakfast, lunchtime snack and an evening meal plus cold drinks throughout the day
  • Recreation & dining area, TV room, lounge & patio
  • Free laundry facilities
  • Access to visiting services & partner agencies, including a doctor, chiropodist & employment advisor
  • Occassional day trips and activities such as football
  • A befriending service under the supervision of the Volunteer Coordinator
  •
    Keywork

All residents are given a keyworker from within the staff team. They meet regularly, provide advocacy and support. It is an opportunity for the staff to get to know their clients, to more accurately assess their needs, for the clients to let off steam, and also to work out their next move. Keyworkers are not counsellors, however, they can help refer residents to appropriate services.

The keyworker liases with the resettlement team to work out the best move on accommodation that the hostel can offer to the resident.
